Coach Bill Walsh said, “I don’t fear failure, I fear success bc success breeds complacency.” I think back to the times I was failing gloriously in Life. Demoted, going through a divorce, & paying on a house no one lived in nor could I afford. But failure caused me to have to fight everyday ...fight to stretch a dollar...fight to creatively pay my bills...fight to eat healthy on the cheap...fight to ward off stress.
I was fighting to win...but when I began to win again...
The house sold, things settled, made a little more money, ate better, exercised less, & rested a little longer...when I won, I got complacent.
Think of complacency as a gas...it discretely creeps in and chokes your success out. That’s why you have to have opposing mindsets. When you’re failing, fight to win...& when you’re winning, fight against complacency..fight to never return to days of old.
